Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cost of goat grazing?
When it comes to hiring goats for your project, understanding the cost structure is essential for effective budgeting. The cost of hiring the goats varies widely depending on the specifics of your project, but we ensure transparency in our pricing. Our minimum fee starts at $1500, but an estimate will be provided for each project.
In addition to this base cost, there are other factors to consider that can influence the overall expenditure. Trucking expenses for transporting the goats to and from your site are an important consideration, as well as any supplemental feed required during their time on-site. Labor costs also come into play; our team is dedicated to ensuring that everything runs smoothly and that your project achieves its desired results.
How far do the goats travel?
Slippery Slope Goats prides ourselves on the unique service we offer: goat travel! Our goats will travel anywhere in the beautiful state of Vermont, bringing their charm and expertise to your land management project.
For larger projects based outside Vermont, we are willing to extend our services throughout New England—-however, it's important to note that due to federal regulations, each goat must undergo a health exam before leaving the state. This requirement ensures the well-being of our goats and compliance with USDA standards. Please be aware that the cost of this health examination will be passed on to the grazing customer.
Let us bring our amazing goats right to your doorstep—wherever you are, in Vermont or beyond!
What are the requirements of the Landowner?
The landowner is responsible for clearly communicating their land management goals to ensure that the care and maintenance of their property align with their vision. By articulating these objectives, landowners can set the stage for a successful partnership in land stewardship. We provide the day-to-day care and management of goats, we only ask that you provide outside access to water and keep your dogs, children, etc. away from our animals while they are visiting.
